He who find a wife finds a good thing… Proverbs 18:22

I hear so many women quoting this particular scripture and always stating that we are the prize.

But are you really a good thing? What makes you a prize and a good thing? Beyond your good looks, fabulous career and great yoni, what attributes do you exude that qualifies you as a good thing? These superficial things aren’t enough to sustain what position the scripture Proverbs 18:22 is speaking of.

I had a recent conversation regarding a video I posted about a woman’s role in a marriage. It was about why is the burden always placed on the woman. Well, as a woman, I can only speak on things related to women. I feel that we often get to wrapped up in worrying about what a man should or shouldn’t be doing and aren’t focusing on the areas in our own lives that need repair.

We expect a man to come in fulfilling all these notations on our lists that we aren’t even fulfilling ourselves. We at times expect a man to accept us in our brokenness but him come fully equipped to meet and exceed all of our needs. This is not fair, to him or to ourselves.

I have my list of what I’m working on. I am on the road to becoming that good thing…
